The farm building is a typical masseria with its characteristic thick walls in cement stone and earth, the chianca or stone floor on the first floor and the wayfarer’s compass or “wind” rose, the old wooden doors, arched ceiling and stone walls in the living room (once the cowshed) on the the ground floor with mangers hanging on the walls, and the great fireplace that once kept the ground floor warm.
Masseria Santanna takes you back in time, but not so far back… With central heating in all rooms to keep you warm in winter, there is no need for air conditioning. The thick walls of the masseria are guaranteed to keep you cool in summer.
