Looking for peace and quiet in the Apulian countryside? Want to explore the Valle d’Itria? Or fancy going up in a hot air balloon? A stones throw from the Adriatic sea and the stretch of the Polignano-Monopoli coast, Masseria Santanna is just the place for you.
Built in 1857, and now a protected rural building, Masseria Santanna nestles between the pastures and olive groves of the Murgia dei Trulli. With its characteristic courtyards that have remained untouched from the days when the shepherds sought refuge with their flocks. The 500 square metre farm is on two floors with 6 bedrooms, a large kitchen and two living rooms, an organic vegetable garden and half an acre of olive and almond trees, fruit trees and oaks.
Masseria Santanna is at the heart of a rich and naturalistic, architectural and artistic area: Murgia, the World Heritage Valle d’Itria famous for its trulli and masseria, nature and marine reserves, and characteristic heritage towns.
Masseria Santanna is but a short drive from the pretty Apulian coast between Monopoli and Polignano a Mare, the “trulli” town Alberobello (UNESCO Heritage), Castellana Grotte with its fabulous underground caves and the woodlands of Selva di Fasano.
On the border between Bari, Brindisi and Taranto provinces, Masseria Santanna is also within driving distance of the marine and nature reserve at Torre Guaceto, “the white city” Ostuni, Martina Franca, the Pianelle wood nature reserve, the baroque town of Lecce, and the “Sassi di Matera”. |
